Human Resource Director
The Missoula Rural Fire District (MRFD) is seeking a Human Resource Director to join their administration team!
The Human Resource (“HR”) Director is the Missoula Rural Fire District’s (“District”) primary HR resource, responsible for managing all HR functions and providing both strategic direction and administrative responsibility for daily HR operations. The position oversees compensation and benefits, leave administration, recruitment and retention, and HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment laws and alignment with the District’s mission. The HR Director also develops, implements and maintains HR programs and systems that promote consistent, fair, and effective practices across the District.

MRFD is in picturesque Western Montana and proudly serves a population of more than 38,000. MRFD is a full-service fire department covering over 84 square miles in Missoula County. There are currently five fire stations that operate 24 hours a day. MRFD employs a Fire Chief, Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief, and five civilian positions. Operations include 54 career firefighters who work a 24/48 schedule. MRFD is also supported by up to 15 volunteer firefighters.
