FYI:  RESIDENTIAL SPRINKLERS

The Missoula Rural Fire District wanted to share two videos from the City of Charlotte, North Carolina, that provide excellent information on the efficacy of residential sprinkler systems.  These videos also help dispel some of the myths of excessive water damage to the home.

Seven young lives were lost during a house fire at Ocean Isle Beach this fall.  The Ocean Isle home had smoke alarms, but didn't have sprinklers.  Safety experts say the addition of sprinklers could have saved those lives.  With the help of the Charlotte Fire Department, Anchor Jamie Boll explains more about the impact of sprinklers.

Part II.  Minimal Water Damage from Residential Sprinklers

Firefighters quickly extinguished an apartment fire in East Charlotte this week thanks in large part to a sprinkler system.   Most apartment buildings in Charlotte are required to have them. Now, there is a big push to have sprinklers installed all new homes. In this special report, Anchor Jame Boll explains why firefighters are pushing for code changes.
