Missoula Rural Fire District offers a Resident
Firefighter Program* to qualifying individuals as a way of supplementing its firefighting forces and a means to help young people interested in community service gain valuable skills and experience.

PROGRAM
With preference given to students enrolled in a Fire Science program, Resident Firefighters must be 18 years old; possess a valid driver's license and a High School diploma or equivalency; and pass a physical agility test and oral interview. Residents live at a fire station and work under the supervision of a Career Firefighter. They also respond to emergency calls, sometimes at bodily risk, while attending District training sessions, assisting with public education programs, maintaining apparatus, and cleaning the station.
