Rescue
Missoula Rural Fire District
firefighters respond to all types of calls for rescue, from the most basic to the highly technical. Accordingly, they train regularly in the following technical-rescue disciplines:
CONFINED SPACE rescue is often necessary in a number of circumstances and locations, such as storage trailers and tanks, caves, silos and boiler tanks at industrial sites.
ROPE rescues can occur on a gently sloped hillside as well as a high angle, vertical wall, such as a building or mountainside. A majority of MRFD's rope rescues occur when a vehicle goes over an embankment.

More Services:
TRENCH rescue skills come in handy whenever and wherever there is work below grade (ground level) and a potential for cave-in.
ICE & SWIFT WATER rescue occurs regularly in Missoula County; inside our District, we have three major rivers and other water bodies. With this abundance of recreation opportunities comes a high probability of accidents. Accordingly, our fire crews train for and respond to all types of water rescue year round.
